Chilly Caching, Warm Cobbler '13
February 23th, 11AM to ???
Good Thymes Cabin, Sycamore Park, Sycamore IL
Let's start by answering the two most often asked questions;
1. This looks expensive, is there any admission or charge?
Monetary donations to help defray cost are requested however not required.
2. Someone told me this event is also a charity benefit, what is that all about?
We will also be collecting non-perishable food items to benefit the Salvation Army. If you do not remember until you are on your way don't fret. You can either make a monetary donation or there is a grocery store about a mile west of the event on rt 64, Browns County Market, or a Wal-Mart and an Aldi on the west side of Sycamore on Route 23.
What To Expect
Cherry, Blueberry, Blackberry, Peach, Pineapple, Chocolate just to name a few of the varieties that will be offered. There always seems to be a surprise or two as well. All made in genuine cast iron dutch ovens over wood and coals outside, rain, snow or shine. Requests are welcome and we will do our best to fulfill them. Use the contact page on this site or the email function at geocaching.com.
The cabin will have a roaring fire going and those cooking and serving will be available to answer questions regarding all varieties of dutch oven cooking, preparation, maintenance, geocaching and their relationship to the meaning of life.
There are also some other activities and details in the works, so keep an eye out here for more details in the next few days or weeks. Details, including exact coordinates, can be found here on the Geocaching.com website along with a fairly complete listing of caches in a 5 mile radius of the site.
We would like to thank the management and staff of the Sycamore Park District who, without their help and restraint from laughing in our face when we book the cabin for this time of year, this event would not be possible.
